Focus on organics, veganism, sustainability
A team of MTI Consultants are in the UK this week for a multi-stakeholder, multi-channel study of organic tea retailing in the country. Given the trending towards organics, sustainability and veganism, MTI expects these currently niche segments to become mainstream in under a decade.
“The kind of R&D investments being made in these niche areas and the heighted level of M&A transactions of large global players buying up start-up – are sure indicators of growth potential. Countries and Businesses, that have for decades, been selling a largely single ingredient commodity, will be challenged by those with strong R&D capabilities. In some cases, these new brands, new products and formulations could make conventional tea redundant. Even currently, RTDs have very little tea in it!” said Hilmy Cader, CEO MTI Consulting.
MTI Consulting has been retained by Teatulia, the fast-growing niche organic tea brand in the USA & UK, to chart their strategic direction and to provide implementation support. Teatulia recently launched its first Tea Bar near Covent Garden, London as a part of their growth strategy.
MTI CEO, Hilmy Cader added, “The UK tea market is currently experiencing drastic changes with increasing demand for herbal and organic teas and the rapid decline of traditional teas. MTI will assist Teatulia UK and Tea Bar to identify and capture these opportunities to position them as a premium organic tea brand in UK.”
